Arts Marketplace is proud to announce the first Annual Arts Marketplace Gallery exhibit, “New Beginnings”. This show features artwork of various media by member artists and creative entrepreneurs. The exhibit Opens January 28 and runs through March 5.

Location: Arts Marketplace Gallery, 40 West Broadway in the Historic CO Brown House (on Broadway between Church and Stone).

Artists & creative entrepreneurs have an opportunity to participate in “New Beginnings”, the first Annual Arts Marketplace Gallery exhibit. The show will feature a sampling of member artists and creative entrepreneurs. All media are welcome.

Logistics

Size not to exceed 24×36, no more than 3 pieces

Arts Marketplace members in good standing (membership fee paid)

Deadline for submission of work: January 21, 2010, 5 PM

Final artwork selection: January 25 & 26, 2010

Drop of location: Arts Marketplace Gallery, 40 West Broadway in the Historic CO Brown House.

Exhibit Opening Date: Thursday, January 28, 2010, 6:30-8 PM

Gallery hours: Wednesday & Thursday, Jan & Feb, 11-2 AM & 4-8 PM

Arts Marketplace partners with ACCION International to bring the much-needed resource of micro-lending to our creative community. Need financial assistance for an upcoming show, supplies or a production? Monday, January 11th – The dreaded Bio & Artist Statement
Start the new year with an accomplishment. At this meeting we will have a writing workshop and you will leave with a bio and artist statement – provided you come with the intent to work. Regina Kelly, founding director of VOICES who is also a business writing teacher and PhD candidate in UA’s English rhetoric and composition program, will coach you through the process. Learn the best techniques to incorporate writing into your creative endeavors. Once the basics are covered you can now concentrate on your projects! 6pm- 8:30pm, Arts Marketplace Studio, 40 W. Arts Marketplace has an opportunity for a limited number of artist and creative entrepreneurs to participate in for our first Tucson ARTSWAP, inspired by our colleagues at Greenway Arts Alliance in Los Angeles, CA.

This lively event is an opportunity to clean out your studios and living spaces. Bring your items to Maynards Market where artists, tourists, and general public will gather to SWAP or SELL their art and artifacts. This is the perfect time to sell one of your treasures and maybe buy another one! Items would include: Art supplies, art, wearable art, specific tools or wares of your media, jewelry, cool & funky kitchen items, books, artifacts and heirlooms. Please keep in mind Maynards has graciously offered their patio space to collaborate with us and be mindful that it is highly visible location and successful location – no junk please.

All creative entrepreneurs and artists of all media are welcome.
